Caltrans Releases Animation of Proposed 5/56 Connectors At the June 2009 Steering Committee meeting, a 3D animation was shown to participants to simulate what two flyovers would look like connecting the 5 to the 56. This large file can be accessed here.

V Calm Signs Activated On Del Mar Heights Road After a ribbon cutting ceremony in July, two V-calm signs were activated on Del Mar Heights road as traffic calming measures after the city received complaints of speeding along DMHR. One sign is located on the north side of DMHR between Recuerdo and Mercado, and the other is located on the south side of DMHR between Mar Scenic and Durango. The signs were paid for through the City of San Diego's annual allocation of Capital Improvement Funds.
The signs record all drivers as they pass by the signs, and flash all speed limits over 40 mph. Traffic studies taken before and after installation of the signs show a reduction in speed after sign installation. For more information, contact San Diego traffic engineer Gary Pence.
